Since the first Women’s Day in 1909, waves of feminism have earned us anti-discrimination laws and the right to vote in most countries. We’ve seen the role of women in Asia evolve, and in recent times, the #MeToo movement has shed light on the unfair treatment endured by women in all industries. Right now, universities are focussed on getting the campus experience right, taking responsibility for their role in modelling gender equality in our learning communities. Let’s walk down the historical path and see how far we have come – if we know the barriers we can look ahead to create a bright future.
